Introducing the New Wiggins Hydrogen-Powered Forklift

Wiggins Lift Co., a pioneer in the electric forklift industry, is taking a bold step in revolutionizing material handling vehicles by partnering with Loop Energy to launch the eBull forklift. This state-of-the-art forklift will be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system, offering safe, reliable, and zero-emissions performance. As an authorized Wiggins dealer, XL Lifts is thrilled to announce the upcoming availability of this remarkable machine.

The eBull forklift is set to make its commercial debut in late 2023, equipped with Loop Energy’s fuel cell system, the S300 (30 kW), which delivers high efficiency, long operational uptime, and low fuel consumption. It’s ideal for transporting bulk cargo, boats, and equipment in ports and marinas.

Hydrogen’s Role in the Energy Transition

This move towards hydrogen-electric vehicles comes at a time when California ports are committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030. The availability of high-capacity hydrogen fueling stations, such as the ones in the Port of Los Angeles, has made hydrogen a viable and accessible solution to power port operations. Wiggins’ electric forklifts already operate at the Port of Stockton and Port of West Sacramento, and deliveries to the Port of San Diego, Port of Long Beach, and Port of Hueneme are expected this year.

Wiggins’ New Partnership with Loop Energy

Wiggins’ decision to partner with Loop Energy, a leader in fuel cell technology, was based on impressive key metrics, including fuel efficiency, integration, operating lifetime, and after-sales support. According to Michele Wiggins, the CEO of Wiggins Lift Co., the eBull forklift’s capacity to achieve higher duty cycles and increased operational uptime offers a significant benefit for customers.

Loop Energy’s President & CEO, Ben Nyland, expressed pride in being selected by Wiggins, stating that the partnership validates their technology and hydrogen’s role in transforming the material handling vehicle market segment.

With a commitment to safety, reliability, and zero-emissions, Wiggins’ transition to hydrogen-electric forklifts is an exciting next step for the material handling market. At XL Lifts, we are excited to offer the new hydrogen-electric eBull forklift, powered by Loop Energy’s fuel cell system.
